Help AAAS Membership Office Stop Repetition.

The AAAS Board of Directors has approved an increase of $4 in dues for Regular members and an increase of $5 for Student and Emeritus members receiving Science. Institutional subscriptions will increase by $5. Spouse memberships will remain the same at $17 as will Emeritus memberships not including Science. While some Association costs have remained relatively constant or increased only slightly in the last year, others have risen dramatically. Two of these, paper and printing, have an inordinate impact on the AAAS budget, primarily because of publishing Science each week. In addition, a postage increase will occur early in 1985. It was these financial considerations that necessitated the Board action. Members' dues and voluntary contributions furnish the critical base upon which AAAS activities stand or fall.
